September 6, 2008	SEWING CLASSES IN SEPTEMBER
	If you are interested, please consider this class as an introduction to sewing. You will learn how to use a machine with basic stitching and finish the 5 week class by completing a final project. Starting Saturday, September 6, at 10 to 12am, the cost is $50.00 to cover supplies, please bring your sewing machine with you. Reserve your spot with Elise Roy at 954-452-3168. There is one machine available for sale if you are interested. Intermediate classes will also resume, if interested; please call Elise as to determine the dates and times.
September 8, 2008	Broward Coalition to End Homelessness
	St. Benedict's is happy to again be participating with the Broward Coalition to End Homelessness during the week of September 8th. We will host three families for an entire week providing them a safe place to sleep, family meals, fellowship, and emotional support. If you are one of our dedicated regular volunteers and would like to confirm your participation for this week or if you are new to the church or to this ministry, please call one of our ministry organizers. September 23, 2008	Child development - Baby Sign Language
	Parishioners and friends of parishioners are welcome to join Tina Voci, Baby Signs® certified instructor, for a Parent Workshop on Tuesday, September 23rd starting at 5:30 pm in St. Mark’s room to learn how to communicate with their babies and toddlers using baby sign language. Cost of the workshop is $60 which includes a Kit with 2 DVDs, a workbook, a flip chart and handy reference signs bookmarks. Tuition for each additional family member is only $20. Part of the proceeds from the workshop will be donated back to Saint Benedict’s. Additionally, baby sign language play classes may also be scheduled in the next few months for interested families. October 19, 2008	HAPPENING - A Retreat for Teens
	Will be held from Friday, Oct. 17th at 5:30 pm to Sunday, Oct. 19th 2 pm at St. Mark the Evangelist Episcopal Church on Oakland park Blvd. If you are interested in attending the Happening, registration is now available on the diocesan website. Go to diosef.org. and click on the registration page. All youth candidates for Confirmation scheduled for April 19, 2009 must attend Happening.

	Diocesan Ultreya will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church Cathedral from 1-3:30 pm. Please note lunch will be from 1-2 pm.
Summer 2009	Missions Trip to Kenya
	As we continue with our summer plans for 2008, let us start planning for our Missions Trip to Kenya in the summer of 2009. We thank God for His faithfulness and mercies.
